Albergaria Vila Lido
-
Jacqueline Kennedy was a guest here in the days when this immaculately kept inn was a private villa. Located near the fort and dating from the 19th century, the period detail is exquisite. Light floods the verandah in late afternoon, and tea on the terrace comes with a fabulous sea view.

We stayed 2 nights at Vila Lido in late October 2007 at the end of a long trip. It was a wonderful conclusion to our trip. Although in the middle of large resort hotels, the inn was in a beautiful large older house overlooking the beach, with many charming details. The innkeeper, Frank, couldn't have been more helpful. THe breakfast on the terrace overlooking the ocean was photo worthy & if I could post a photo, I would. Our room, with ocean view, was large, comfortable, and extremely clean. Crowds were gone by this time, but stores & restaurants were open, and weather was very nice and sunny. A beautiful "unresort" place.
